Where is the Rectory?

The Old Rectory is in the peaceful village of Tattingstone, 5 miles south of Ipswich. Nearby is a lake which has many pastimes including walking, (9 miles around the perimeter) dinghy sailing, cycling, bird watching and fishing. There are some Tennis courts close by. Other activities available in the area include horse riding, golf, sailing, quad bike riding, wind surfing and dry ski slope.

We have been hiring The Old Rectory for over 10 years and many people continue to return year after year. We also have special offers for mid-week hire.

Suffolk is famous for its local produce. You can enjoy some of these delicious foods from local farm shops such as Jimmy’s Farm, The Food Hall near the Orwell bridge and Rookery Farm.

The Suffolk landscape inspired Constable, Gainsborough and Benjamin Britten and it still captivates visitors today. Dedham Vale where John Constable was born and worked is just a few miles away.

Suffolk has stunning towns, villages and coasts within the surrounding area these include Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings, Orford, Southwold and Lavenham which are all within driving distance.
